'The implications of Vera’s wood pasture hypothesis for management of woodland and associated habitats in the High Weald AONB’
Tuesday 24 September 2002
The Weald has so often been portrayed as archetypal impenetrable forest despite increasing evidence to the contrary. Vera’s hypothesis argues that wild herbivores were sufficiently numerous to maintain a shifting mosaic at a landscape scale of open grassland, scrub, open grown trees and groves.
