Nicholas Blowers

The British born artist, has captured the hearts of Australian art lovers with his powerful paintings of wonderful old trees in Sydney.

Recent works walk a line between painting and drawing and are a continuation of his interest in the process of mark making. His current subjects are the strange, muscular trees that are to be found in the parks and open spaces of Australia. He says "I see them as heroic subjects representing something noble and majestic. There is something particular and innate to each tree so that it often feels like I am painting a portrait."
