Three Ash Trees looking out over Otmoor
"We attach some images of our local trees. The first is of just two out of perhaps eight or ten similarly old and hollow trees in the grounds of Blenheim Palace at Woodstock. (Walking here with our Grandchildren, they were delighted by these trees, getting inside them, and peering out through the various "windows". I include two photos of paintings done in recent times, on site, of an old oak tree which stands beside the driveway to Shotover Estate, near Wheatley. On a recent walk, it took eight of us, just touching fingers, to embrace this tree. Another smaller and more hollow oak was nearby until blown over by the winds earlier this year. The fourth image is of three ash trees proudly looking out over Otmoor from Beckley Primary School playing field, and the first is of just two out of perhaps eight or ten similarly old and hollow trees in the grounds of Blenheim Palace at Woodstock.
