Fred Currie writes ‘An exiting opportunity to
widen our collective understanding of European non-intervention and old
growth native woodland ecology. In particular Mihai would welcome discussion
and advice on the "management" and ecology of the old growth, rare and
declining Beech forest areas in the newly created Machin Mountain National
Park.
Through Mihai we have the opportunity of visiting the rarely visited
strictly protected forests of the Delta and Dobrogea. Mihai, who speaks
perfect English, is a dedicated and expert woodland ecologist and botanist
carrying out surveys of Dobrogea's forest resources, recommending new areas
for protected status and drafting management plans. Our advice could assist
the Romanians with the conservation of their important forest resources.
Arrangements would be made through Honeyguide Wildlife Holidays (Chris
Durdin) and fully ATOL protected. Scheduled flights from London Heathrow.
Cost in the region of £875 to include full board accommodation, local
transport, leaders, and airport transfers. Interested? At the moment there
